Welcome to a site that pokes (a little) fun at Eastern Michigan University. Really, I loved the professors at EMU, but the administrations is … well … often Bird-Brained. EMU makes huge mistakes that land it in the news – again and again. And the local paper, the Ann Arbor News, loves to report scandals about EMU – this keeps the heat off the University of Michigan. One huge scandal at Eastern was the logo kerfuffle. Once upon a time (see this site gives you little stories along the way) … Eastern had an Indian (a Huron) brave as the university logo. When people objected to that, did the university have fun with the fact that Eastern Michigan University is abbreviated “EMU.” No! They adopted a boring, and oft over used, eagle. Well, enough is enough. This site brings back the idea of an Emu (the bird) as Eastern’s unofficial logo. So support this site and wear some stuff with the logo on it – wear it with pride. Together we can bring some fun and excitement back to EMU. Maybe together we can generate some school pride. After all, the eagle is used everywhere, but how many people can say they graduated from a university that has a huge, flightless, kinda stupid-looking, bird as a mascot!
